ON OUR RADAR Championed by state Senator Gaetz, Florida's major health insurers (Humana, BCBS, AvMed Health Plans, Vista Healthplans, Aetna, CIGNA and United Healthcare) have signed a voluntary consensus agreement to cover routine care costs for patients enrolled in certain phase II, III, and IV cancer clinical trials. The compact also requires insurers to cover preventive care and cancer screening in accordance with national standards. This agreement was signed January 13th, 2010.State Links
