Ms. Arnett has served as a founding member on the Executive Board of the National Patient Advocate Foundation / Patient Advocate Foundation since 1996 and is the Board Secretary.

She holds the position of Director of Nursing Services for University Health Services at the University of Texas in Austin providing clinical services to over 50,000 students. Prior to that, she was owner of LA Associates (now MedLogic), a Texas Based Healthcare Consulting firm. At LA Associates she directed a National network of healthcare professionals providing consulting services to major self-insured employers, government entities, and healthcare payers with a focus on Business/Healthcare Operations, Medical-Legal Consulting, Provider Contracting, and Case Management services. Her experience in the Managed Care industry provides a wealth of resources, and support, to the patients served by the Foundation.

Ms. Arnett received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Texas Women’s University - Dallas, Texas. She will complete her Graduate Degree in Healthcare Administration in June 2005.

Arnett holds certifications as a Medical-Legal Consultant, Medical Case Manager, and Quality Improvement / Quality Assurance Specialist. She is also respected as an expert in Provider Contracting, Healthcare Management Systems, and is an accomplished National Public Speaker.
