Leo Sands was a co-founder in 1993, of American Oncology Resources and currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of US Oncology, the organization formed by the merger of American Oncology resources and Physician Network. From July 1991 until joining the company, Mr. Sands was principal of Altech, Inc., a health care business development firm. Prior to Altech, Mr. Sands was employed by HMSS, Inc. in various operations management positions and ultimately served as Vice President of Planning and Development.

Mr. Sands began his health care career as a pharmacist, serving for the Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center of Denver. He received his Masters in Healthcare Administration from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, and Bachelors degree in Chemistry and Pharmacy from the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO.
