On May 13th, 2009, Friends of Cancer Research, along with twenty-six leading patient advocacy organizations, including NPAF, released a report entitled "Improving Medical Decisions Through Comparative Effectiveness Research: Cancer as a Case Study."
U.S. Representative Brian Higgins (D-NY) introduced the "Cancer Drug Coverage Parity Act" (HR 2366) on May 12th. The legislation will help ensure cancer patients have access to life-saving drug treatments.
The report, When Coverage Fails: Causes and Remedies for Inadequate Health Insurance, was released in April 2009 detailing the growing problem of underinsurance in the United States.
