NPAF Joins Over 200 National Organizations Urging YES on Health Care Reform

The National Patient Advocate Foundation joined more than 200 leading national organizations including the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association, Consumers Union, Families USA and the Partnership for Prevention calling for a "YES" vote on health care reform because the cost of doing nothing is much to high!

The statement describes that a "YES" vote on health care reform will:

  • Ban denials of coverage to children and adults with preexisting conditions
  • Cover more than 30 million people who dont' have health coverage now
  • End enormous premium increases
  • Help small businesses so they can afford to provide decent health coverage for their workers
  • Curb health care costs
  • Prevent families from going into debt or bankruptcy
  • Close the Medicare Part D "doughnut hole" so Medicare enrollees won't fall into the drug coverage gap any more
  • Cut the federal deficit by more than $100 billion over the next ten years
