First Lady Addresses How Health Reform Impacts Women & Families

The First Lady, Michelle Obama, focused her attention on the benefits of health care reform to women & families on September 18th.  The First Lady stated that women increasingly play a unique and significant role in family decision-making especially when it comes to health issues.  Eight out of every ten mothers say they make the decisions regarding the doctors their children visit and are most often the parent that accompanies their child to the doctor's office.  The First Lady also identified that a 25-year old woman is charged up to 45 percent more than a 25-year old man for the same health insurance coverage.
