NPAF Commends Rep. Courtney's Continued Efforts to Eliminate Preexisting Condition Exclusions

National Patient Advocate Foundation praised Representative Joe Courtney (D-CT) for his continued efforts in support of the "Preexisting Condition Patient Protection Act of 2009," legislation introduced by Rep. Courtney to completely eliminate preexisting condition exclusions and waiting periods for all individuals regardless of their type of insurance coverage.
At a press conference held on June 11th, NPAF stood alongside Rep. Courtney and fellow bill cosponsors to express their full support for the legislation and ensuring that the elimination of preexisting conditions is part of comprehensive health care reform. Bill cosponsors in attendance at the press event included: Rep. John Larson (D-CT); Rep. Allyson Schwartz (D-PA) Rep. Betty Sutton (D-OH); Rep. Donna Edwards (D-MD); and Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA).
