Report Explores Most Pragmatic Healthcare Reform Proposals

The Commonwealth Fund released a report on October 18th which explored three different approaches to healthcare reform.  Most health reform plans can be grouped under one of the following: tax incentives and the individual insurance market; mixed private-public group insurance with shared responsibility for financing; and public insurance.  The report concluded that a private-public approach is most feasible financially and politically.

In addition to exploring the three healthcare philsophies and current proposals developed by Presidential Candidates, the report analyzes the current health insurance system and why it fails to promote high performance.
