Patients, caregivers and their health care providers consistently identify trust as a crucial component of good communications and shared decision making. At our Fall 2019 Policy Consortium, we focused on the key issues that influence trust. Speakers brought a deep, candid and sometimes provocative perspective about the impact of bias in the clinical encounters and ways we can collaboratively work to infuse trustworthiness into the health system. Over 80 people attended the event held November 13 at the Newseum.
