Promoting Health Equity and Better Outcomes by Addressing Social Needs

November 17, 2021 | 12:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Our health care system is complex and expensive.

Patients and caregivers are often overwhelmed when they confront serious or chronic illnesses. These burdens fall most heavily on those who face poverty, are un- or underinsured or lack access to quality clinical care. They often struggle with the day-to-day costs of food, housing and transportation.

This November, the Policy Consortium will explore these problems and potential ways to help patients navigate the system through patient advocacy, policy initiatives and community action. We will focus on current best practices and the most promising solutions to eliminate disparities and make equitable health care available to all.
